Our Mission

The mission of Spiritual Development is to nurture the fullness of God's love in us and among us through wisdom, rhythms and relationships. Through our programs, we seek to welcome and guide those who long to take the Spirit-led journey that moves faith from the "head to the heart," from belief to trust.

A Letter From Our Dean of Spiritual Development & Campus Pastor, Dr. Todd Pickett

We like our name, Spiritual Development.

Spiritual reminds us that God’s Spirit is here, and He is doing something. He is bringing growth, rescue, reconciliation, restoration, and flourishing (“salvation”) to the world and its people, because God so loves them (John 3:16). Development recognizes that the Spirit works in our lives today, now, in all that we are experiencing--the good and the bad, the highs and the lows, and the clear and the confusing.

We in Spiritual Development want to walk with you through all of this with us because all of this can work together for the good of becoming more like Jesus (Rom. 8:28). In particular, we want to help you identify what God is doing in your life and cooperate with it (Phil.2:12-13)--through our chapels, pastoral care, student-led ministries, and leadership development. As you can, come visit with us early and often; we’d love to take the journey with you.
