Our Mission

The Center for the Study of the Work and Ministry of the Holy Spirit Today is a resource for students and scholars seeking a greater understanding and experience of the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. Housed at Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology, the center aims to produce biblically faithful resources that equip Christians to be transformed and empowered by the Spirit for the sake of the gospel.

Resources

Holy Spirit Poured Out Chapels

Each semester, the Center will be hosting “Poured Out” Chapels, featuring worship leaders and bands who will lead students into an extensive time of worship and prayer to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. See "Upcoming Events" for details on future Poured Out Chapel dates.

Academic Symposium

Every two years, the Center will sponsor an academic conference featuring papers published by the faculty engaged in research.

International Student Conference on Spirit Empowerment

Every two years, the Center will host a gathering of students from around the world with the goal of advancing the Gospel.

Global Leader-In-Residence

Each year, the Center will invite an influential Christian leader to Biola to educate the community about the Holy Spirit’s current work around the world.

Research Fellowships

Each semester, funding from the Center will enable two professors to work collaboratively on a Spirit-focused research project.
