Student Feedback and Reflective Practice

The more we know about how our students are experiencing our course, the more we can adapt our teaching to achieve our goals. Collecting mid-semester feedback in addition to the end-of-term IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction provides an avenue of collecting this information directly from students.

  • Mid-Semester Feedback: Mid-semester feedback lets instructors "check the pulse” of their class partway through the semester. You can find samples and templates on the Faculty Advancement website.
  • The IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction: At Biola, we use the IDEA Student Ratings of Instruction (SRI) instrument to collect student feedback at the end of the term. You can find more information, sample forms, best practices and report interpretation resources on the IDEA website.
