What's Next
Congratulations, you’re in!
Now that you're accepted, I’m sure you’re wondering, “What’s Next?” Below you’ll find a list of essential next steps to start your Biola journey. If you have any questions along the way, we’re here to help.
Ready to be a Biolan?
First things first — you’ll need to create login credentials for MyAccount, your personalized enrollment portal, and submit your enrollment deposit by following the steps below.
-
Request your new student username and password
How do I request my username and password?
To access your MyAccount student portal, you’ll need to submit the Retrieve your MyAccount username and password form.
Once you have submitted this form, you will receive an email delivered to the personal email address that you used to apply to Biola. Look for the subject line "Accessing your student account.” This email will include your username and a temporary password.
If you do not receive an email from it.helpdesk@biola.edu within five minutes of submitting this form, please check your spam folder. If you need assistance, please contact the Admissions department: admissions counselor or online.admissions@biola.edu. Alternatively, you can call 562-903-6000.
-
Log in to MyAccount using your username and password
What is MyAccount?
MyAccount is Biola’s online student portal where you'll find a personalized list of enrollment steps and resources. Go ahead and bookmark the site — you’ll return to it frequently as you complete enrollment steps.
-
Update your MyAccount credentials
How do I update my multi factor authentication and password?
When you have logged in to MyAccount, you’ll receive a prompt to download the Microsoft Authenticator app (or choose “I want to set up a different method”).
Once you have set up your multi factor authentication (MFA), you’ll be redirected to update your password. Here, you’ll input the temporary password you were assigned (sent to you in an email) and change your password to a new, permanent one.
-
Submit your $100 enrollment deposit via the assigned task on MyAccount.
-
Complete enrollment tasks on MyAccount.
How can I see the enrollment tasks?
The home page (“Tasks” tab) and the “Financial Aid ” tab are the two pages that list tasks to complete. Tasks Page: If you log in to MyAccount, your Tasks page will list tasks related to Enrollment, Incoming Student Tasks, and Textbooks/Parking. Any task without a green check mark still needs to be completed. Financial Aid Page: Under the “Financial Aid” tab, select the link to the “Aid Year” under the Financial Aid Requirements section to view your financial tasks.
I completed a task, but it doesn’t have a green check mark beside it. What should I do?
Some tasks require you to mark the task as done manually. The “Schedule a Virtual Appointment” and “Submit a Registration Profile” tasks have a “Mark as Done” black button within the task page. Most of the other tasks will automatically be marked as done once the task is completed. Some tasks may be completed but have a 24-48 hour lag time in being marked as done. If tasks are completed but continue to appear as incomplete after a week, email your admissions counselor for assistance.
If I need help completing a MyAccount task, who can I contact?
If you need help completing a task from the MyAccount home page, you can contact your admissions counselor for assistance with most of the tasks.
If you specifically need help with scheduling your Virtual Advising appointment with an academic advisor or with submitting a Registration Profile, contact your academic advisor.
If you need help with completing a task from the Financials tab, you can contact our Financial Aid office via email (finaid@biola.edu) or phone (562-903-4742).

Set up an appointment with your program advisor to register for classes.
How do I register for classes?
Once you submit a Registration Profile, schedule a virtual advising appointment (appointment link on MyAccount) to review your schedule with an academic advisor. The Registration Profile is a 3-5 min form that gathers information on who you are as a student, what your academic expectations and goals are, and how we can best support you throughout your academic career. The Registration Profile is available on your MyAccount home page. It is listed as a task under the “Incoming Student Tasks” section.
How do I schedule my virtual appointment?
On MyAccount, go to “Incoming Student Tasks” and “Schedule a Virtual Appointment”. If you need assistance with scheduling your appointment, contact your academic advisor.
What will we cover in a virtual appointment and how can I prepare?
Virtual appointments are an opportunity to connect over phone or video chat and hear more of your story, answer academic-related questions, and review your first term schedule. Appointments typically last 30-40 minutes.
The most important task to complete prior to your virtual appointment is submitting your Registration Profile. After that, take a look at your degree requirements and write down questions you have about your major, general education, or Bible requirements. Be ready to take notes during your appointment since your academic advisor will review a lot of key information with you.

Review Your Graduation Requirements
Where do I find my graduation requirements?
Log into MyAccount and click “Degree Planning” on the left-hand side. Click “Degree Audit” in the “Stay on Track!” section to find a comprehensive list of your graduation requirements.
How do I understand my graduation requirements?
The Degree Audit is an online checklist of requirements to graduate.
- What is your Degree Audit? – The Degree Audit is a tool to track degree requirements for graduation. It contains personalized requirements based on the year that you are entering Biola, any transfer credits, and a few other factors.
- How to find your Degree Audit – Log into MyAccount, click the “Degree Planning” tab, and select “Degree Audit” from the list of resources.
- How to navigate your Degree Audit – The top section of the Degree Audit lists key academic information like your major, degree type, academic advisor, GPA, and more. The middle section of the Degree Audit is broken up into three main sections: Major, Core Curriculum - General Education, and Core - Bible requirements. The bottom section of the Degree Audit is for “General Electives” (course credits that do not fulfill a major, General Education, or Bible requirement.)
- How to interpret your Degree Audit – The very bottom of the Degree Audit has a legend that explains what various symbols mean. The three most important symbols are the circles to the left of listed course requirements; these circles indicate completion status. A red circle indicates that the requirement is still needed, a blue half-moon indicates that a requirement is registered for, and a green checkmark indicates that a requirement is fulfilled.
- Transfer Credits on Degree Audit – If you took a course and intended to transfer the credits into Biola, it may not appear on your Degree Audit for one of three reasons: You may not have submitted your official transcript from the institution, the class on your official transcript may not have had a final grade listed, or your transcript may still be processing. If you have questions about this, contact your academic advisor. AP/IB/CLEP credits are only applied once passing scores are submitted to the university from the exam board. If a transfer course is listed in your General Elective section but you believe it should apply to a specific requirement, submit a Transfer Petition form.
-
Confirm Transfer Credits Are Applied (If Applicable)
How do I transfer credits to Biola?
In order to transfer credits to Biola, official documents must be submitted directly from the institution. In the case of college transcripts, it must be an official transcript with final grades from your courses submitted directly from the college. With credits for AP, IB, or CLEP exams, scores may be submitted from the College Board website. If you have a question about transcripts, reach out to Transfer Admissions (transfer.admissions@biola.edu, 1-800-OK-BIOLA).
How do I know if my transfer credits apply to my degree?
If you are unsure whether or not transfer credits will apply to your degree, visit the Registrar’s Office page on Transferring Credits. If you need assistance with navigating this website or interpreting the content, contact the Registrar’s Office (registrar@biola.edu, 562-903-4720).
How can I see if Biola received my transfer credits?
You can confirm whether or not Biola received your transfer credits by checking your Degree Audit (a checklist of degree requirements.) Your Degree Audit can be found through MyAccount under the “Degree Planning” tab. If a degree-applicable transfer course has been applied to your degree, you will see the course requirement checked off with a green checkmark and a note listing where the course was transferred from.
-
Submit High School Transcripts (If Applicable)
Who needs to submit a high school transcript
If you are a first-time college student, you are required to submit an official high school transcript. If you are a transfer student but do not have transfer credit for foreign language, you may want to submit an official high school transcript. The Core Curriculum (GE) foreign language requirement is waived for Online Bachelor students who completed 2+ years of the same foreign language in high school. Otherwise, you will be required to take 4 credits (one semester) of a foreign language to fulfill the requirement.
How do I submit my high school transcript?
To submit your high school transcript, contact the office of your high school and request that an official transcript be sent directly to Biola University. It may be ordered through Parchment, emailed directly from the school to Biola (admissions.transcripts@biola.edu), or physically delivered in an untampered envelope sealed by the school.
If the transcript will be mailed, it may be sent to the following address:
Office of Admissions
3800 Biola Avenue

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have access to Biola’s in-person academic resources?
Yes, you do! Online Bachelor’s students have access to Biola’s campus and in-person resources. Many of our in-person resources also have online formats, so feel free to reach out and ask if there are opportunities to meet online for a writing center appointment, pastoral care meeting and more — explore the Current Students hub for additional resources.
Who can I contact if I need technical support?
If you need assistance with navigating an academic-related platform like Canvas, Navigate, or our registration system, contact your academic advisor. If you need assistance with other Biola-related technical issues, you may contact our Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk (562-903-4740 or it.helpdesk@biola.edu).
What will professor and peer interaction look like?
Biola online bachelor’s programs are completely asynchronous. This means that course content will be in pre-recorded or written format, giving you the flexibility to complete your assigned content for each week at your convenience. With this modality, professor and peer interaction might look a few different ways. Professors may send emails/Canvas messages/video messages to check-in, leave comments on different assignments through Canvas, and offer “Office Hours” (appointment slots for professor-student meetings) for students to take advantage of. Peer interaction will likely take place through online discussion boards or voice-recordings.
