Note: You can access your assigned Information Security training at login.biola.edu/everfi.

Biola requires all employees to complete mandatory data security training every year. IT assigns the training through the EverFi system. Student and temporary employees are exempt.

Training is one part of a complete information security program when combined with awareness communications and simulated phishing.

Why is this mandatory?

Information security training is mandatory for Biola employees for two reasons.

  1. Compliance: To comply with security standards such as NIST, GLBA, and PCI DSS, regular employee training is required.
  2. Prevention: One employee’s lack of careful judgment can result in a serious data breach, so it’s critical that Biola’s employees learn to confidently recognize threats targeting Biola users and their data.

What is EverFi?

EverFi (known historically as Lawroom) is the platform that Biola uses to train employees for compliance topics such as sexual harassment, FERPA, PCI DSS, and data security. The service is managed by HR in partnership with IT.

When is Information Security training assigned?

IT assigns Information Security training once per year in the Spring. Generally, the training is due one week after Spring commencement.

You will receive an email from automated-message@everfi.net with the subject line Complete Your Mandatory Information Security Training.
