Zoom Fatigue is Real
College is supposed to be a time to discover your identity outside of your home origin, but in this season, many are doing college at home. Online learning has its upsides: you can wear pajamas to class, eat whenever you want, and have a more flexible schedule. But it also has significant downsides. We miss being together, easy conversations in and out of the classroom, and little moments of laughter or seeing each other as we walk across campus. In the midst of remote classes and coursework, you may be navigating home responsibilities, jobs, church life and putting much-needed time into fostering friendships that are physically distant.
In a 2018 survey, 92% of Biola students indicated they felt overwhelmed by all they had to do — and that was before the pandemic hit. Many students are probably even more overwhelmed than when that data was collected! We hope that this tool can be helpful in combatting the hardships that come with online learning, encourage you emotionally and give you practical tips to create a positive learning experience.
