Walking together in faith

Pastoral Care Groups

Pastoral Care Groups (PCGs) are voluntary, small and private ministries designed to support students in their discipleship through intentional, guided Christian formation. Housed within the Department of Spiritual Development, these groups provide a biblically faithful and pastorally attentive framework for our community.

Our mission is to help students disciple their desires — stewarding their hearts and lives in accordance with God’s design for wholeness and holiness. We are here to walk with you as you navigate the complexities of life with truth, grace, courage and kindness.

Core Offerings

Our offerings are designed to give undergraduate students a welcoming space to be heard and explore what matters most to them. We offer accompaniment and thoughtful guidance around topics such as:

  • Grief and loss
  • Same-sex attraction or gender dissonance
  • Homesickness and transition
  • Pornography and lust (men's)
  • Pornography and lust (women's)

Participation & Privacy

These groups are led by trusted, trained pastoral care providers from within our community. To ensure the privacy necessary for deep discipleship, these groups are not organized as student-led clubs or advocacy groups but as guided ministries.

If you are interested in participating in a Pastoral Care Group or if you have a desire to see a PCG developed on campus, please contact the Spiritual Development office at spiritual.development@biola.edu to get connected.

PCGs are one of many ways we support students at Biola. We encourage you to take advantage of the many resources available across campus, including the Biola Counseling Center, Spiritual Direction, Student Accessibility and Housing and Residence Life. Whether you’re looking for personal support, spiritual guidance or help navigating campus life, there’s a community ready to walk alongside you.
