Governance and Transparency
SGA is committed to operating openly, responsibly, and in service of the student body. Our governing documents provide the framework for student representation, accountability, and leadership.
Our Constitutional Foundation
The Student Government Association is governed by a Constitution and Bylaws that establish the structure, powers, and responsibilities of student government at Biola University.
As the Constitution states:
“We, the students of Biola University, aim to advance the interests and well-being of our student body. To this end, we entrust our power in chosen representatives…”
These governing documents help ensure student representation is organized, transparent, and effective, while providing a stable framework for advocacy, accountability, and faithful service.
The Constitution outlines:
- The authority and structure of SGA
- Roles and responsibilities of student representatives
- Processes for elections, representation, and amendment
- The principles that guide student governance
The Bylaws provide procedural detail that supports the Constitution and governs day-to-day operations.
Bylaws, Amendments & Revision History
The SGA Bylaws help clarify how student government functions in practice, including Senate procedures, committee structures, and operational processes.
The Amendment and Revision Log provides a public record of all amendments and revisions to the Constitution and Bylaws, whether proposed by members of SGA or the student body.
This log promotes transparency and accountability by documenting how governing documents have evolved over time.
