Steps to Apply

  1. Submit $45 application fee along with your completed application.

  2. Official high school transcripts and official college transcript(s):
    • College transcripts should include all college courses completed by the student.
    • Transcripts may not be hand delivered. They must be sent electronically from the school via Parchment or mailed directly to:

Office of Post-Traditional Admissions
13800 Biola Ave.
La Mirada, CA 90639

Note:
It is advised that you fill out your FAFSA form (fafsa.ed.gov) early in the admission process. Be sure to include Biola University's number (001122) on the form. Once that is received, our Financial Aid Department can begin the process of helping you find the aid you need.

Steps to Apply: International Student

  1. Submit $45 application fee along with your completed application.
    • If applying online, you may submit the fee through your application portal, otherwise please send a check or money order made payable to Biola University, with the student's name indicated on the memo-line, to the address below:

          Office of Post-Traditional Admissions
          13800 Biola Ave.
          La Mirada, CA 90639

  2. Complete the required essays
    • Your essay prompts can be found in your application. Your application will not be reviewed until your essay has been submitted.

  3. Submit official transcripts
    • Submit an official transcript from each secondary and post-secondary school attended, current through the time of application. Students who have taken courses outside of the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by an independent Credential Evaluation Agency located in the United States, such as the American Education Research Corporation. A 2.5 GPA is required for international transfer students.

  4. Submit your TOEFL scores
    • If English is your non-native language, please take the TOEFL exam and submit the scores to us. We are looking for a minimum iBT score of 79 (Speaking 22 and Writing 19). Please see the TOEFL website for that exam with more information.

Admissions Requirements

As an evangelical Christian institution, Biola University requires that an applicant has been a Christian for at least one year prior to admission. As adult learners coming back to school, we prefer that you have at least 45 credits already completed.

Requirements:

  • We recommend 45 undergraduate semester credits acceptable for transfer to Biola.
  • An approximate cumulative 2.5 GPA in all college-level work.
  • We prefer a combined minimum of five years of life, work and/or ministry experience since graduating high school.

Please note that we consider a student's file for admission in a holistic manner and encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the bulleted requirements above. Please contact your Admissions Counselor with any questions.

Transfer Credits

Up to 70 credits of work from other accredited colleges or universities can be applied to your degree. Ask your admissions counselor for transfer credit guidelines.

  • Your courses must be from an accredited institution.
  • You must have earned a grade of “C” or better in the course.
  • You must order an official copy of your transcripts from each school you have attended.
  • Transcripts are only “official” when they are mailed directly to Biola from each school.
  • No hand-carried or 2nd person transcripts can be accepted.
  • Completing your AA degree at a community college might not satisfy all your general education requirements at Biola. Contact your admissions counselor for more information
