English Language Support

Looking for a structured way to improve your writing in a supportive environment? The English Language Scholars at Biola now offers a Writing Studio — a 3-credit course in which you can develop and revise your current and previous written work. Based on teaching methods used in art studios, in which the professor guides students in their artwork as everyone is working together, the writing studio allows students to bring work from other courses for guided revisions and improvement. The course focuses on four skills in academic writing: rhetorical awareness, reading and citing research, claims development, and revision strategies. The course can be taken multiple times as session A and/or B at the undergraduate or graduate levels.

Sign up using the following course codes:

  • ENGL 103 — Undergraduate level
  • ENGL 084 — Graduate Level
