Matthew Duff

Matthew Duff is a graduate student studying clinical psychology. A Seattle native, he enjoys hiking, reading, playing board games and doing anything that involves being outside. His writing strengths include organization, clarity, diction and grammar. He enjoys working with students of all disciplines but is especially familiar with APA style.

Anna is a global student in the Biola clinical nursing program. Eventually, she hopes to return overseas to develop sustainable, culturally-conscious healthcare systems. From brainstorming to final polish, Anna understands that the writing process can seem daunting but is eager to engage with students and show how achievable effective writing can be. Her strengths include idea organization, structure development and conceptual flow. She looks forward to working with students to help them find their voice in their own writing.

Janae Miller

Janae is a senior undergrad studying English and education so she can one day explore life and literature with middle schoolers. She loves the challenge of tackling theses, ideas and organization, as well as working with the clarity and beauty of a piece through vocabulary and sentence structure. She loves humanities essays, research and creative writing, and the sciences.

Brianna Cornejo

Brianna is a senior, undergraduate Psychology major. After graduating, she hopes to obtain a Masters degree in Sport and Performance Psychology and later become a Sports Psychologist. Brianna's writing strengths include organization, clarity, flow, spelling, strong grammar, and quote integration. Lastly, Brianna is a very optimistic and energetic person who finds joy in helping others, especially those who need a little extra help in anything related to writing.

Caleb Villa

Caleb is a senior, undergraduate business major and a transfer student from the University of Washington. His strengths include forming compelling theses, organization, grammar, clarity and analytical writing. He also has plenty of experience working with students who are still learning English. In his free time, Caleb loves to analyze music and film through discussion and written reviews.

Daniel is a graduate student at Rosemead. He is a global student from Brazil and grew up as a missionary kid in Thailand where he hopes to one day return and serve in the mental health field. His strengths in writing include strong organization, grammar and word choice, with knowledge in both research-based and creative writing papers. He enjoys working with multilingual students and is familiar with the obstacles of learning English as a second language.

Elsa is a junior, undergraduate English major with an emphasis in secondary education. She loves helping students communicate through writing and is passionate about giving a voice to their ideas through words. Her strengths include APA and MLA formatting, developing thesis, clarity, and evidence integration.

Joshua Labata

Joshua is a junior undergraduate screenwriter and a member of the Torrey Honors College. From writing video games to screenplays to research papers, he loves writing for anything and, more especially, everyone. He hopes to write stories for a living. His strengths include technical polish, structuring compelling arguments and bringing out the writer from what’s written. He also hails from Manila, Philippines and is very humbled that you’ve read his bio.

Katherine Padilla

Katherine is an undergraduate sophomore studying cinema and media arts and business administration. She specializes in concept clarity, word choice and sentence structure — especially for global or multilingual students. She is passionate about the art of teaching and the holistic growth of those she works with. Furthermore, her love of international languages inspired her to study Chinese and gain experience as a remote ESL teacher in Taiwan.

Joy is a senior, English major in the Torrey Honors College. After graduating, she hopes to bring innovative writing programs to rural communities. Her strengths include Turabian and MLA formatting, sentence structure, and integration of evidence. In addition to humanities and research papers, she has experience with creative and professional writing.

​​Mia is a senior Clinical Nursing student. She hopes to become an ER nurse working in critical care and trauma situations. Mia's writing strengths include organization, clarity of concepts, tone of voice, word choice, and both research and creative writing. She is excited to work with students to establish confidence in their writing and pride in their work.

Noah Senthil

Noah is an aspiring pastor and theologian, who is pursuing an M.A. in Classical Theology. He holds a B.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College, and he previously served as a pastor in Cleveland, OH. He specializes in researched-based writing and argumentative-style essays. He enjoys writing in all fields of study, but he is especially familiar with the humanities.

Mary Anne is pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, with dreams to be a child therapist one day. Her strengths revolve around helping papers to flow well, such as drafting outlines and weeding out unnecessary details. One of her secret joys is creative writing, and she is pretty sure that she will eventually write a book - although at the current pace of school, it probably won't happen until she is retired.

Danny is a senior, undergraduate biological sciences major in the Torrey Honors College. His strengths include grammar, sentence structure and developing theses. He enjoys working particularly with argumentative essays and research-based papers.

Aiden is a sophomore, undergraduate CMA major with a production emphasis as well as a business analytics minor. He is also a member of the cross country and track & field teams at Biola. He is a passionate writer in all genres, from creative pieces to research papers, but especially enjoys writing screenplays.

Zach is a graduate student studying Marriage and Family Therapy. His primary focus is on helping students with grammar, spelling and word choice. His favorite topics are Psychology and the Bible.
