Canadian Scholarship

The Canadian scholarship is for new, incoming undergraduate students from Canada and will be available starting Fall 2024.

Scholarship Amount

$4,000 per year (divided equally between the fall and spring semesters)

Eligibility

To be eligible, the student must:

  • Be a first-time student at Biola University beginning with the Fall 2024 semester.
  • Be a resident of Canada with residency confirmed based on the student having graduated or currently attending a Canadian high school, or based on official Canadian residency documentation.
    • Note: A Canadian high school is defined as a high school located in Canada.
  • Be enrolling as a degree-seeking student in an undergraduate program at Biola.

Renewable Status

The scholarship is renewable if a student maintains minimum grade requirements and on-campus study.

  • The scholarship is limited to four years of enrollment or 4.5 years if the student is in a 4.5 year program.
  • The student cannot be eligible for U.S. Federal Title IV aid or Cal Grant.
  • Recipients are not eligible for the Foreign Student Aid Grant.
  • At least half-time enrollment is required for scholarship eligibility.
  • Students enrolled less-than-full-time will have their scholarship prorated to 75% and 50% for three-quarter-time and half-time enrollment respectively.
  • Other institutional aid will typically not reduce this scholarship unless the scholarship results in gift aid in excess of the student’s cost of attendance.
  • External aid such as private scholarships will typically not reduce this scholarship unless the scholarship reduces eligibility for the external aid or if the scholarship results in gift aid in excess of the student’s cost of attendance.
  • If a student’s institutional aid and external tuition-specific scholarships exceed the student’s direct costs, this scholarship will be reduced since this scholarship is not refundable to the student.
  • The recipient must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress standards to maintain eligibility for the scholarship. The recipient must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to maintain eligibility.
  • The scholarship is not transferable.
  • The scholarship is only available to new Biola students beginning in the Fall 2024 semester.
  • Students who are using the Tuition Waiver program are not eligible for this scholarship. If the scholarship is awarded before tuition waiver is added to a student’s financial aid package, the scholarship will be removed.
