Learning practical skills in my field of broadcast journalism showed me my faith and my passion can work together.

How did your program at Biola prepare you for your career?

The practical learning of writing, producing and addressing the camera prepared me to be an on-air reporter. Learning skills instead of only theories made the learning environment very similar to the real world.

What did you appreciate most about your time at Biola?

While at Biola, I didn't realize how powerful being with a group of like-minded people was. I remember thinking "community" was just a word tossed around. After leaving, I realized how vitally important the Christian community is there and it became my favorite part about Biola.

How did Biola equip you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?

Biola gave me the perspective of how I can live out my faith in the real world. Learning practical skills in my field of broadcast journalism showed me my faith and my passion can work together.

What advice would you give to students considering your degree program?

Don't waste your time or money if you have no intentions of going into this field. Here's some good news...anyone can get a first job in TV news. Anyone. It's the second and third jobs that separate the wheat from the chaff so might as well try it! It is a very fun job.
