Symphony Orchestra

Conductor

The Biola Symphony Orchestra regularly programs symphonies, tone poems, and concertos from the standard classical repertoire, while mixing in newer pieces written by living composers. In the past, the ensemble has played works by Beethoven, Dvorak, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Puccini, Ravel, Schubert, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and a host of other composers. On average, the ensemble performs between 6 and 8 times per year, including opera and musical theatre performances in early spring, and each semester the orchestra performs new works written by student composers. In 2019, the BSO played alongside The Brilliance in a special collaboration at Biola.
