Voice

Perform with purpose.

The voice concentration in our B.M. in Music Performance program will help you take your voice training to the highest level possible within a four-year degree. Whether your goal is to pursue graduate studies, perform, teach, conduct or lead worship, the voice faculty will help you reach your full potential as a singer, musician and artist. You’ll also gain invaluable solo and ensemble performance experience through ensembles like Chorale, Opera and Vocal Jazz. Other performance opportunities abound, including singing with the Biola Symphony Orchestra and masterclasses with renowned teachers and performers. Past guests include Angela Meade and Ann Baltz.

Our voice alumni have attended some of the finest graduate schools in the country, including the Eastman School of Music, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody Institute and the Fletcher Opera Program. Alumni Earle Patriarco ('89) and Katie Van Kooten ('04) have both had highly acclaimed international singing careers including performances at the Metropolitan Opera. Other alumni head major high school choral programs or are teaching voice and opera at the university level. In addition, voice students have placed in local voice competitions nearly every year for over two decades.
