Ed.D. in Educational Studies, Talbot School of Theology

Classes have transformed me wholeheartedly and the knowledge added has enlightened me. I now want to give it back to the society through teaching others to be transformed and change their society.

Why did you choose to attend Biola over a different school? What were the most important reasons for making your decision?
I got to meet Biola students in 2010 in Kenya during their student mission in Bygrace CBO. They demonstrated so much love to the children that I was serving in the organization. Much later, Biola President Barry Corey visited the organization and this blew me away. We were honored by these visits and the love, humility, provoked me to try Biola University. The light of Jesus in them was shining during the few days they spent with us. The children were loved and the warmth is still evident in the lives of our children. I came to Biola to experience what I saw in Kenya and I can assure you I am now different and would love to go back to continue changing lives of many teenagers and youths in Kenya.

What has been the most memorable part of your Biola college experience and why?
I admire the love, warmth of students, faculty and staff. This is priceless and it has made me accept who I am in Christ. Classes have transformed me wholeheartedly and the knowledge added has enlightened me . I now want to give it back to the society through teaching others to be transformed and change their society. Faculty and staff are the best. They have treated me so well and I see them as angels who God has sent my way. Career services are the best and I would love to see Kenyan Christian universities transformed to follow suit.

What advice would you give to students considering your degree program?
The fact that all the knowledge I have received is not for me but for others. I am being prepared to teach and equip others with this knowledge that I have gained. I plan to teach in in Kenya and other parts of the world. Africa is in my heart and I will follow where God will lead me to serve.

How is Biola equipping you to be a more faithful follower of Jesus Christ?
I have learned a lot from the leaders of various departments. I don't just observe but desire to follow after them. I see they have Jesus in them and no wonder Biola is a Christ-centered university. I have seen this wherever I have gone whether Biola Student Health Center, Biola financial aid office, The president's office and the president himself has made me love God more and become a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.
