David Wang Named as New Editor of The Journal of Psychology and Theology

July 20, 2017

Rosemead School of Psychology professor David Wang will step into the role of editor for The Journal of Psychology and Theology (JPT) this summer. Rosemead professor Todd Hall has served as editor for 14 years and will transition out of the role to focus more on research and teaching roles at Rosemead.

“Under Todd Hall’s leadership, the journal has continued to be a primary outlet for research on the integration of psychology and theology,” said Rosemead School of Psychology dean, Clark Campbell. “I am appreciative of Todd and his steady leadership of this leading journal in the field for so many years.”

Wang has been the managing and associate editor for several years and is familiar with the editing role of JPT. The journal was launched by Biola University nearly 45 years ago and seeks to communicate recent scholarly thinking on the interrelationships of psychological and theological concepts, and to consider the application of these concepts to a variety of professional settings.

Campbell is confident in a smooth transition in leadership this summer.

“David Wang is well prepared for this work, having graduate degrees in both theology and psychology, as well as developing a strong record of research and scholarship in the area of integration,” said Campbell.

Rosemead professor Andrea Canada will join Wang as the new associate editor. Canada has published significant articles in the area of integration and in health psychology.
