All international transcripts need U.S. grade equivalencies noted (e.g. GPA on a 4.0 scale). If an applicant's transcripts do not show U.S. grade equivalencies, the applicant must have them evaluated by a credential evaluation agency like World Education Services (WES) or Foundation for International Services (FIS). Be sure to choose "course by course report" and have WES/FIS send them directly to Biola University (13800 Biola Ave, La Mirada, CA 90639) in order to be considered official. |

Bilingual Authorization – Spanish
Verification of Valid California Teaching Credential OR GPA Requirement and Official Transcripts | The Bilingual Authorization must be attached to an existing California teaching credential. Possession of a valid California teaching credential must be verified in order to be recommended for the Bilingual Authorization from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing. The SB 2042 preliminary Multiple Subject, Single Subject, and Education Specialist Instruction credentials authorize instruction to teach English Language Learners English. Bilingual Authorization candidates must hold a valid SB 2042 Multiple Subject, Single Subject, or Education Specialist Instruction credential or a CLAD certificate to meet the English Language Learners English requirement. The following credential programs at Biola University meet the preliminary credential requirements for the Bilingual Authorization. Bilingual Authorization Requirements:
Candidates may also take CSET exams to meet requirements of the Bilingual Authorization. The following CSETs will be used as evidence of knowledge.
Applicants may enroll in courses for the Bilingual Authorization while in the process of completing requirements for the preliminary credential. Applicants must have completed all requirements for a bachelor's degree prior to the start of the program and must have a bachelor's degree conferred from a regionally accredited institution prior to the start of the second term, and should have a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must also submit an official transcript from their previous academic institution.
