If Christians are to be wise, we must monitor the composition of our “knowledge diet.” In our habits of media intake, what occupies the most foundational place? Is it making us wise or foolish? Brett McCracken suggests that true wisdom is built on the sources of truth closest in proximity to God. In this chapel talk he will walk through the bottom three levels of The Wisdom Pyramid: Bible, Church, and Nature.

Brett McCracken

Brett McCracken is a senior editor and director of communications at The Gospel Coalition. He is the author of The Wisdom Pyramid: Feeding Your Soul in a Post-Truth WorldUncomfortable: The Awkward and Essential Challenge of Christian CommunityGray Matters: Navigating the Space Between Legalism and Liberty, and Hipster Christianity: When Church and Cool Collide. Brett and his wife, Kira, live in Santa Ana, California, with their two sons. They belong to Southlands Church, and Brett serves as an elder.

Fun fact: I worked at Biola for 9 years (from 2008-2017) and met my wife Kira when we were both on staff in Metzger (she is still on staff in Advancement). We literally bumped into each other in Upper Metzger one day in 2010, and the rest is history. "A marriage made in Metzger," you might say. Now we have two kids going on three (due in April) who have Biola to thank for their existence
