Sopranos Lisa Dawson and Tammie Huntington, together with pianist Phoenix Park-Kim, formed the group Soprani Compagni for the express purpose of researching, compiling and performing soprano art song duets, oratorio and opera scenes; modeling soprano collaboration; and commissioning new works for soprano duet. Soprani Compagni had their Carnegie Hall Debut at Weill Recital Hall in March of 2012. Through a generous grant from the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities in 2015, Soprani Compagni has commissioned twelve new works themed around “Portraits of Women,” and will be touring Korea, Hong Kong, China and the United States during 2016-2017 with their newly released C.D. and anthology. Composer collaborators are: Jesse Ayers, Robert Denham, David H. Davies, David Fuentes, Leanna Kirchoff, Todd Syswerda, Joopoong Kim, Doug Harbin, Jody J. Nagel, Philip Seward, Bruce Trinkley, Benjamin Williams. New York Times best selling author, Nikki Grimes, is the lyricist collaborator.
