At times the Sermon on the Mount has felt more like a weighty list of rules and unachievable guidelines than good news for my life. As I've immersed myself in its teachings in the last couple of years, I've come to see that each and every part of the Sermon of the Mount has already been fulfilled in and through Jesus Christ. In Christ, God shares his very mercy, purity, peace, and righteousness with us that we can graciously and joyfully live as God's children in this world.
