Mission and History

The Department of Art graduated its first class of students in 1972, and has continued to flourish year to year. Today, our department boasts three robust bachelor’s programs along with two minors and a wide array of program concentrations.

Our mission is to guide students in their artistic and spiritual formation, and to help them fulfill their unique, sacred calling in culture. This is as true today as it was 50 years ago in the early days of our department, and we remain committed to seeing our students thrive artistically, academically and spiritually.
