Steps for Success: Sophomore Year

Strengthen your relationships with faculty. Take a faculty member (hopefully your advisor) to coffee and ask them about their journey personally, spiritually, and vocationally and their passion for integration in their field.

Develop a graduation plan (be sure to consider pre-requisites, course offerings by semester, electives, study abroad, research opportunities, writing-intensive courses, internships, etc).

Connect an understanding of vocation and calling to your academic decisions and educational experiences in and beyond your future career.

Discuss career options and objectives: determine internships, graduate school preparation, professional organizations, create or improve your resume.

Arrange and complete your first internship or experiential (academic service or cross-cultural) learning opportunity.

Make decisions about research opportunities, practicum, graduate school options and requirements.
