Applying to the Crowell School of Business
What is the CSB Application?
All Business and Accounting students begin as Pre-Business students. During your first semesters, you will complete introductory courses that provide a foundation in business and help you explore the areas offered within the Crowell School of Business.
Once you have completed the program prerequisites, you must formally apply to the Crowell School of Business before continuing into upper-division coursework.
Applying to CSB allows you to:
- Take 300/400 level business courses.
- Declare a Business concentration as a Business Administration major, or continue in the Accounting program.
- Receive a faculty advisor aligned with your program of study.
- Continue progressing toward graduation on schedule.
Application Requirements
Complete the Required Prerequisite Courses With a "C" or Higher
- BUSN 201 — Principles of Macroeconomics OR
BUSN 202 — Principles of Microeconomics - BUSN 211 — Principles of Accounting I
- BUSN 212 — Principles of Accounting II
- BUSN 240 — Principles of Management
- ENGL 112 — Studies in Critical Thinking and Writing OR
ENGL 100 — Studies in Critical Thinking and Writing with Studio - MATH 190 — Business Statistics OR
MATH 210 — Introduction to Probability and Statistics - BUSN 211 — Principles of Accounting I
- BUSN 212 — Principles of Accounting II
- BUSN 240 — Principles of Management

Application Process
When to Apply : All application steps must be completed before advising season so that you can be assigned to the appropriate faculty advisor and register for upper-division courses. Refer to the Biola Academic Calendar for the current semester’s advising season dates. The application is sent to all Pre-Business students in their Biola email directly from business@biola.edu once the form is opened at the beginning of each semester.
Step #1: Submit the CSB Application
Complete the Digital Application and verify that:
- Your prerequisite courses have been completed
- Your cumulative GPA meets the 2.5 requirement.
Step #2: Create a Degree Plan
As part of the application process, you will prepare a Degree Plan that outlines your future semesters through graduation. Your plan should include all of your remaining major, general education, and Bible minor requirements.
Step #3: Meet with an Advisor
After submitting the application, you will be prompted to schedule an appointment with a CSB advisor. During this appointment, you will:
- Review your Degree Plan
- Discuss your academic progress
- Learn important information about your chosen program
- Submit the concentration declaration form to the Registrar (Business Administration majors only)
After Acceptance
Once admitted to CSB, you will:
- Transition from Pre-Business status into your major program.
- Be assigned the appropriate faculty advisor.
- Be given access to register for upper-division business courses.
