Engineering and Technology Facilities

From Concept to Creation
Our engineering and technology facilities give students the space, tools and resources to turn ideas into working solutions. From early prototypes to advanced projects, these spaces support collaboration, testing and making.

The Lim Center
The Alton and Lydia Lim Center for Science, Technology and Health brings Biola’s science, technology and health programs together under one roof. Its 91,200 square feet include modern learning spaces, research facilities, and specialized equipment that support hands-on education and collaboration.

Engineering Prototyping Laboratory
The 1,434-square-foot Engineering Prototyping Laboratory is a hands-on space where students can design, build and test engineering projects. The lab seats up to 20 students and is equipped with 3D printers, a laser cutter, CNC machines, a drill press, testing equipment and a variety of hand tools.

Circuits and Instrumentation Laboratory
The 1,241-square-foot lab seats up to 25 students and provides space for electrical and electronics projects. Students have access to oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, soldering stations, NI ELVIS III workstations, and PCB printers for designing, testing, and building circuits. Fume hoods help safely remove fumes during soldering and PCB printing.

Engineering and Robotics Design Lab
The Engineering and Robotics Design Lab is a collaborative space for hands-on robotics projects and competitions. It is primarily used by the Robotics Club for VEX-U and other projects, bringing together students from engineering, computer science, robotics and other majors.
Engineering Garage and Robotics Hangar
Opening in Spring 2027, the Engineering Garage and Robotics Hangar will add more than 6,400 square feet for hands-on engineering and technology projects. The facilities will include a machine shop, welding area, classrooms and open bays for projects ranging from racing vehicles to drones and autonomous systems.
