Giving Societies

Biola is immensely grateful for the many alumni, parents and friends who generously support the ongoing work of the university. Our giving societies are communities made of donors who support specific aspects of the university’s mission, make annual giving commitments, or demonstrate long-term faithfulness through recurring gifts.

A Legacy of Impact
In 1980, Joel Camp enrolled at Biola College. On Parents’ Day, his dad and mom, Harold and Doris Camp, were introduced to Biola’s then-president, Richard Chase. Dr. Chase confided that his burden to meet the financial needs of Biola students was sometimes overwhelming.
This conversation motivated the Camps to start the President’s Circle — seven Biola families who committed to donate $1,000 per year to the Biola Fund. Members also met with President Chase to regularly pray for the Biola community.
Today, the President’s Circle has grown to over 900 faithful partners who are committed to generously supporting Biola’s mission on an annual basis and are faithful in praying for President Corey.

The Bell Tower, located in the heart of our La Mirada campus, is an important historical landmark tying together our past and our future. Constructed in 1987, the tower includes five of the original 11 Meneely bells that were suspended atop Biola’s original downtown Los Angeles building in 1914. Along with the iconic Jesus Saves sign, these bells served as a message and beacon of hope to the surrounding community. Gordon Hooker, Biola’s official bell ringer, played the bells three times a day and twice on Sundays for over 30 years.
Today the bells are heard daily at 9:25 a.m. calling students to chapel, at noon and at 5 p.m. The Bell Tower has become a pivotal meeting place for group prayer and campus gatherings.
Your generous lifetime giving can make a difference for our students.
