The boards of Phoenix Seminary and Biola University have both voted for Phoenix Seminary to become Talbot Seminary Phoenix, bringing together two institutions with a shared commitment to biblical fidelity, theological education, and preparing faithful, gospel-centered leaders for the church. The governing boards have approved moving forward with this plan, pending final regulatory and accreditation approvals.

The vision for Talbot Seminary Phoenix is rooted in both continuity and growth. Rather than simply preserving the legacy of Phoenix Seminary, Talbot seeks to build upon and extend it into a new season of ministry preparation, church partnership, apologetics, and gospel witness throughout Arizona and the broader Southwest.

Both institutions share deep theological commitments as conservative evangelical, joyfully multidenominational schools committed to the authority of Scripture, the centrality of the gospel, and the preparation of pastors and Christian leaders who are biblically grounded, theologically formed, and ready to serve the church in a rapidly changing culture.

Phoenix Seminary will continue operating throughout the transition process, including summer classes, while leaders work through the necessary accreditation and regulatory steps. Current students will continue progressing in their degree programs without interruption during the transition process.

This is an exciting moment for Talbot and Phoenix, but most importantly for the advance of Christ’s kingdom through more men and women faithfully pursuing a rooted theological education to faithfully proclaim the gospel, disciple others, and serve with conviction, wisdom, and grace.
