Globally recognized social media star, filmmaker and alumnus, Zach King (’12), will deliver Biola University’s Spring 2024 commencement address at ceremonies on May 3 and 4. With a combined social reach of over 130 million followers, King is known for the “magical” content he creates using creative film editing and optical illusions. He partners with brands regularly, most recently seen in a Pepsi Super Bowl ad on TikTok.

“I am honored to have Zach King return to his alma mater to share wisdom and wonder with our Spring 2024 graduates,” said Biola University President Dr. Barry H. Corey. “Zach’s creativity, innovation and skill in filmmaking continues to transform the world of social media and beyond. I know our graduates will be inspired by the lasting influence he is making as a Christian in media with a platform that reaches tens of millions.”

King’s magical and uplifting content and brand has seen enormous growth since his original fame on the now defunct platform, Vine. He holds the Guinness World Record for “Most Viewed TikTok” at 2.2 billion views and released his first book “Zach King: My Magical Life” with Harper Collins in 2017, followed by the release of “Zach King: The Magical Mix-Up” later that same year, and “Zach King: Mirror Magic” in 2018 to complete the trilogy. In 2016, King was heard opposite Idris Elba and Ginnifer Goodwin as a voice in Disney’s animated film “Zootopia.”

His company, King Studio, has executed successful partnerships with brands such as Apple, Amazon, Nike, Coca-Cola, and many others. King has been featured on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, Forbes, and People Magazine, among numerous other publications. Based in Los Angeles, he aims to inspire and motivate young filmmakers to create anything extraordinary.

King will deliver the commencement address at both of Biola’s ceremonies held at 7 p.m. on May 3 and 4, speaking to nearly 1,000 graduating students combined including graduates from Biola’s Snyder School of Cinema & Media Arts.
