In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly officially declared October 11th the International Day of the Girl Child, "to recognize girls’ rights and the unique challenges girls face around the world."

One of these unique challenges is the obstacles many girls in developing nations face in getting an education. As recently as July 2016, it was estimated that there were 130 million school age girls across the world receiving no formal education.

Girls are not the problem, girls are problem solvers.
