LA MIRADA, CALIF. --- The women at Biola University’s residence hall Alpha Chi have decorated their halls in the classic game board, Candyland, fashion to welcome 600 to 800 children this Friday, October 31, 2008, Halloween night. This will be the eighth annual Candyland trick-or-treat event at Alpha Chi. Each floor in the residence hall is decorated in a different Candyland character’s theme such as Queen Frostine and Gramma Nut.

Several La Mirada elementary schools such as Garden Hill Elementary, La Pluma Elementary, Foster Road Elementary as well as Granada Heights Church have been invited to the event. Community families with children in third grade or below are also welcome to come trick-or-treating in the ornamented halls.

Biola students hope to serve the La Mirada community through this event.

“It is our chance to reach out to the community and have a safe environment for their kids, and by reaching out, we hope to show Christ's love,” said Alpha Chi Resident Assistant Shannon Carter.

Trick-or-treaters are invited to come between 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. There will also be a bounce house and a movie for children to enjoy.
