Biola’s student-athletes capped off a memorable 2025–26 year in the spring with three teams making NCAA Division II postseason appearances — and the Eagles earning a share of the final Cornerstone Cup against longtime rival Azusa Pacific University.

The women’s track and field team earned its first-ever PacWest Conference Championship in April, with Eagles winning six individual events at the championship meet. The men’s team placed third and won five individual titles. In May, both squads shone at the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships. Sophomore Eboselulu Omofoma placed third in the women’s triple jump, setting a new Biola record of 12.77 meters. Sophomore Joshua Widdows took second nationally in the men’s 400-meter hurdles, also breaking a school record with a time of 50.31 seconds.

Biola’s softball team captured a regional championship in May with a perfect 3–0 run through the NCAA Division II Softball West Regional. The team advanced to its first NCAA Division II Super Regional before falling to No. 1-seeded Cal State San Marcos. Four Eagles earned Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-West Region honors: Lillianna Garcia and Kendall Nakano were named to the first team, while Jackie Ibarra and DJ Symons were named to the second team. Biola’s four all-region selections were the second-most of any program in the West Region.

The men’s tennis team also won a regional championship in May. After finishing as PacWest runners-up, the team defeated Hawaii Pacific 4–1 in the opening round of postseason play to advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the first time in program history. Their run came to an end against No. 5-seeded Catawba College in the national tournament’s first round.

The spring marked the end of an era in Biola athletics. With Azusa Pacific moving to Division III competition next season, the longstanding rivalry concluded with Biola tying with APU for the Cornerstone Cup, awarded annually based on head-to-head results across all sports.
