Dr. Harvey Havoonjian received his B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of California, Riverside. He went on to receive his M.D. degree from the UCLA School of Medicine. Following medical school, he entered a residency program for internal medicine and also worked as a doctoral research associate and took part in a dermatologic surgery research fellowship. Since coming to Biola, he has established the Biola Office of Health Professions Advising for the health career student population on campus. Dr. Havoonjian is the AAMC designated primary health advisor for Biola, as well as a member of the National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions. He teaches courses in the Department of Biological Sciences, spends time as a clinical research consultant, and is a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He advises students on a daily basis as they prepare for the wide range of graduate health professional programs. Dr. Havoonjian and his wife Kathleen attend the Fullerton EV Free Church where they are both both active in the Orchestra and music ministry.
