LA MIRADA, CALIF. — The beloved 38-year-old Biola University tradition of the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony is upon the community once again. The Biola community is encouraged to invite friends and family to the event, as the more the merrier. The ceremony will be held in Chase Gymnasium on Friday, Dec. 2 at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.

In addition to the tree lighting, attendees can expect to hear a message from President Barry H. Corey, members of the alumni community, as well as an original Christmas carol performed by the Biola chorale accompanied by members of the community. Biola is inviting members of the community to join the choir to sing alongside them.

Before the ceremony begins, attendees are welcome to enjoy the vendor fair in various locations around campus, with fair booths featuring a variety of Christmas treats and gifts. The fair will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the tree lighting at 7 p.m.

There will be a livestream option offered on the Biola website for those who cannot attend the event in person. For those who are able to attend on campus, seating will open at 6 p.m. After the lighting of the tree, attendees will experience some Southern California snow!
