As 100 white paper lanterns floated overhead on Metzger Lawn Friday, May 20th, Biola's Class of 2011 celebrated their accomplishments at Senior Dinner--over 700 students and guests! Hosted by Dr. Rick Bee and the Alumni Office, guests visited, snapped photos and shared memories of their years at Biola...and their hopes for the future. Professor of the Year, Melissa Schubert of the Torrey Honors Institute, shared the keynote address, directing graduates to consider the brevity of life and the comfort and hope of Jesus, the One Who loves us most. She also shared humorous anecdotes, musing on funny memories of her beloved students. Music was provided by Encore and The Jazz Quintet. Jenna Plumb and Emily Ballard, student assistants in the Alumni Office, conceived and planned the event. You could tell the graduates and their guests enjoyed themselves--forty minutes after the event concluded, most attendees were still hanging out, visiting and taking more pictures! Congratulations to the Class of 2011!
