It was a night of record-breaking attendance as nearly 3,000 current students, prospective students and their parents filled Chase Gymnasium for Biola’s annual Midnight Madness pep rally on Sunday, November 7, 2010. The enthusiastic crowd was a sea of red as they witnessed the introduction of Biola's athletic teams and enjoyed outstanding performances by the Biola Cheer Squad, Biola's dance troupe XOPOC, and The National Anthem by mens vocal ensemble The King’s Men. The Men's and Women's Basketball Teams were introduced and participated in the annual 3-Point Competition--making the Women's Team as this year's champions. Students also had the opportunity to have their name drawn for a chance to win an iPad, sponsored by the Biola Alumni Association.

One of the highlights of the evening was a surprise choreographed "stomp battle" featuring the Women’s Basketball Team, the Biola Cheer Squad, XOPOC and student leaders from AS Spirit Board and The Event Society intern program. Students then taught the audience the “Biola Spirit Stomp” which students will perform at all home games. At the close of the evening, students practiced "rushing the court" [a Biola tradition after basketball victories] and enjoyed one last surprise: an explosion of red and white confetti. Midnight Madness was the perfect evening to bolster school spirit for Biola’s Basketball season, and to give prospective students and families a window into the thriving community life at Biola.
