Frank Pastore interviewed Biola University President Barry H. Corey and Biola’s professor of philosophy Gregg Ten Elshof on Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Pastore’s radio show, The Intersection of Faith & Reason, airs on KKLA 99.5 AM, and is the most listened to Christian radio show in Southern California.

Corey discussed Biola’s future, objectives and current situation with Pastore from 4:30 to 5 p.m.

“Biola continues to be a university on the move,” said Corey. “…what Biola needs to be is to maintain those strong levels of commitment to being a school deeply rooted and grounded in a biblical worldview for our leadership, our teaching, our curriculum, our voice…From that we have a lot of ideas and energy to launch new initiatives and increasingly investing in relevance.”

Corey also spoke to Pastore about Biola’s global dynamic reaching out to the world, but also local communities through ministries as well as students and alumni serving nationally and internationally.

After interviewing Corey, Pastore spoke to Ten Elshof at approximately 5 p.m. for approximately 30 minutes. Ten Elshof spoke on a new project he is working on at Biola University and his new book, I Told Me So.

The new project Ten Elshof discussed with Pastore was commissioned by Corey to imagine what it would be like to establish a Center for Christian Thought at Biola University, one that would deal with “deep ways of biblical worldview thining on the current issues of our day,” according to Corey. Michael Wilkins, Biola distinguished professor of New Testament, is working with Ten Elshof on the project.
