Biography

Dr. André Woo’s teaching interests are in the field of Occupational Therapy. He currently teaches courses in the B.S. in Allied Health/pre-Occupational Therapy concentration, which includes the courses such as Intro to Occupational Therapy, Assessment, and Interventions in Occupational Therapy. Prior to joining the faculty at Biola, Woo taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California.

Woo pursued further specialization in Occupational Therapy after his OT.D. and became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). He has been working at Cedars Sinai Medical Center Outpatient Hand Therapy Clinic since 2015. Woo balances directing the OT Program at Biola University and continues practicing at Cedars Sinai Medical Center and Grande Home Health Care.

  • Global Initiatives Panelist, Los Angeles. Presented on job search for entry level positions, interviewing skills, terms of reimbursements, policies, and other economical/political realities in the work field. April 2020.
  • Occupational Therapy Practice Issues Forum, Los Angeles. Presented on current practice trends and clinical examples of integrating occupation into everyday practice in the outpatient rehabilitation setting. July 2017.

Advanced Hand Rehabilitation and Certification (PAMs) - This course is accredited by CBOT and meets the educational requirements for students pursuing their PAMs certification in the state of California. Created case studies and lecture topics to enhance students’ experience.
  • University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Guest Lecturer for OT 562: Advanced Hand Rehabilitation and Certification.
  • University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA. Guest lectured on Hand Therapy and Physical Agent Modalities topics to increase students’ understanding of Occupational Therapy and its responsibilities in the outpatient rehabilitation setting.
