Summer Hours:
Closed until further notice.

Services We Offer

The Biola Tech Commons is staffed by helpful IT student employees ready to assist students with personal computers and software applications. In addition, the Tech Commons supports the entire Biola community with printing, copying, and using public computers in the library. We also process media equipment loans for faculty, staff, and students.

Tech Help for Students
If you need technical help, like installing an anti-malware program, backing up your data, or troubleshooting computer slowness or crashes - please come see us! We also provide assistance with many Biola systems like the wireless network, Google Apps, and Canvas. If we can't quickly answer your question or fix your computer problem, we'll refer you to someone who can.

Computers in the Library
The Windows and Mac computers in the Library are available for staff, faculty, students, and alumni to use with a NetID and password. Guests can request a guest account at the reception desk by the library entrance. Computers in the library have a host of software applications installed to support learning, teaching, and research. Make sure to save your data to an external device or cloud storage when using these public computers - we clean off the storage drives regularly for your protection.

Media Equipment Loans
Staff, faculty, and current students are welcome to borrow media equipment from Tech Commons, such as sound amplification and recording kits, projectors, and video recorders. Visit our inventory page for a full list of media equipment for loan. To reserve equipment, please fill out a Reservation Request Form. You are also welcome to walk in and check out items if they are not already reserved. Make sure to visit our policies page before you borrow equipment.

Charging Stations
Need to charge your device? The Tech Commons has several quick charging stations with the following connections:
  • Lightning - Apple mobile devices
  • Micro-USB - most Android mobile devices
  • USB-C - some Apple and Windows computers, as well as some Android mobile devices

You are welcome to sit at our tables and study while you charge your device, but please don't leave your device unattended.
