Student Health and Wellness Steering Committee (SHAWC Steering)

The purpose of the SHAWC Steering Committee is to guide the vision, framework and strategic planning of student well-being efforts at Biola. The Steering Committee’s membership includes faculty and administration from representative departments in the university who desire to foster student well-being in curricular and co-curricular spaces. The Steering Committee is responsible to strategically connect the work of larger administrative units, including Academic Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion and Student Success, to the socio-ecological model of well-being. The SHAWC Steering Committee is chaired by the VP for Student Development, who shares outcomes with the Provost and Senior VP of Academic Affairs.
