Fiona in Graduation Robes

I guess this is it…Wow, you guys. I cannot believe that I am writing my last blog ever for Becoming Biola. I have loved this experience so much. Getting to connect with you guys and write about my college life has been the best! If you’ve been reading my blogs, I want to thank you for reading little pieces of my heart and mind. I truly hope that they have been helpful as you navigate through college decisions and even life. I am so thankful to have been able to share my stories and talk to some of you guys during admissions events. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

As you know, I am a senior and will be graduating from Biola soon! After graduating, I will be going back home to Indonesia for a few months to relax and catch my breath. I will be spending time with family and friends over this break and in August, I will be flying back to Los Angeles to start my adult life (ahhhh!). The plan is still tentative as of right now. Currently, I am waiting to hear back from a graduate school program in Los Angeles and am applying to jobs in the city. After much debate about where I would want to spend my post-grad life, I finally decided that I wanted to stay in Los Angeles. So I’ll be here! When I come visit Biola, maybe I’ll see some of you guys around!

Thinking about the future and “adulting” is scary, you guys! But I have full hope in the Lord and believe that He is holding my hand as I go through life. Never have I thought that I would love Biola this much. I have learned so so much these past three years about journalism and my passion for it, about my faith, and most importantly, about myself. Biola has been a breath of fresh air in my life and has become my home away from home. In a way, it will always hold a special place in my heart and will always be home to me. I’m currently tearing up as I write this but, wow, I am so grateful.

And so: if you are still on the college decision-making journey, my advice for you is to trust. Completely trust that He’s got you and surrender to that. He will close all the doors not meant for you to go through and open the one you are meant to go through. It may not make sense right now, but it will soon. If you have committed to Biola, congratulations! I am so excited for you! You are going to get a college experience like no other and I pray that the Lord grows you through it all.

It has been my absolute pleasure writing for you guys! I hope that my blogs have been a source of encouragement and inspiration. You can always keep up with me on my Instagram (@fionaegandy) to see what I’m up to post-Biola! I appreciate you and thank you for reading :)

Much love,

Fiona
