Kelsey Miller began teaching full-time at Biola University in fall 2017. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Biola University (2011) and Master of Science in Kinesiology from California State University, Fullerton (2017). Her research at CSUF was in human performance involving foam rolling, sprint speed, and range of motion.
Her research interests include sports performance, strength and conditioning, nutrition, & exercise and cancer. Her teaching interests & professional experience are in the areas sports performance, personal training, program design, strength and conditioning, sports psychology, and nutrition. She has certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a certified strength and conditioning coach and a certified personal trainer, and has over 8 years of experience in various personal training & sports performance settings. She co-founded and currently runs Ascension Strength & Performance, a small business providing sports performance and personal training services. In addition, she has had experience performing fitness assessments with professional athletes from the St. Louis Cardinals & the Anaheim Ducks. Miller is passionate about bridging the gap between research science and practice, and aims to provide the most up-to-date, relevant information from the literature to her students using a variety of teaching tools and techniques. She is passionate about helping students explore God’s unique design in human body within the context of human movement, and encourages them embrace their strengths, learn from their weaknesses, and pursue their passions for the glory of God.
