5 Step Admissions Process

Step 1: Apply to Biola University

Torrey Honors operates as a part of Biola University. Students will not be admitted to Torrey Honors unless they are also admitted to Biola University. Before applying to Torrey, you must apply to Biola University.

You need not await acceptance into Biola University before applying to Torrey, you need only complete and submit your application to Biola University prior to applying to Torrey.

Step 2: Apply to Torrey Honors

Please be ready to submit as an attachment a 5-8 page argumentative work in order to complete your application.

All prospective Biola University students who have one or more of the following are invited to apply to the Torrey Honors Institute:

1. A GPA of 3.8 and higher
2. A combined SAT of at least 1800
3. A composite ACT of at least 25

Step 3: Complete Follow-Up Questions

Once your application is received, Torrey Honors will e-mail you a set of follow-up questions. Please complete and e-mail these questions within two weeks of receiving them. E-mails can be sent to Torrey.Honors@biola.edu.

If you do not receive follow-up questions it may mean that we did not receive your application. Please contact us at Torrey.Honors@biola.edu.

Step 4: Interview with THI Director

Per a Faculty Committee review and recommendation of your application, you will be contacted to schedule a group or phone interview with the director of Torrey Honors.

Step 5: Notification & Confirmation

You will receive notification of the result of your application, no matter the outcome, by the middle of April.

Students selected to participate must notify Torrey Honors of their intent to enroll by May 1, 2013. If you are accepted after May 1, 2013, please inform Torrey of your intention to enroll quickly. If you missed the May 1st deadline, please contact us (information below).
