Molinism: Toward Reconciling Divine Foreknowledge and Human Freedom
April 29-30 • Atlanta, GA with William Lane Craig
In this Special Topics class, Dr, William Lane Craig addresses several interrelated themes. First, divine foreknowledge: how do we best explain God’s knowledge in relation to our actions before we do them? Various options have been proposed: open theism, simple foreknowledge, Calvinism-Augustianism, and Molinism (or middle knowledge). Second, if God does have such knowledge, do we truly have free will? Dr. Craig argues that contends that these notions are compatible. He shows how the Bible teaches divine foreknowledge of human free acts, and he defends his preferred solution, God’s middle knowledge.
