American Studies Program
Uses Washington, DC as educational laboratory where students gain hands-on experience with internship in chosen field and explore pressing national and international issues in public policy. Seminars led by ASP faculty and Washington professionals.
Australia Studies Centre
Based at the Wesley Institute in Sydney. Courses offered in visual arts, drawing, theatre, dance, ethnic music and urban ministry. Study tours include aboriginal communities, the Outback, and Canberra.
China Studies Program
Based at Xiamen University in Fujian province. Study tours include travel to Xian, Beijing, Shanghai, Macau, and Hong Kong. Courses include Chinese language, history, geography, and culture, modernization and economic development, intercultural communication, and martial arts.
Contemporary Music Center
Based on Martha's Vineyard near Cape Cod. Designed for students interested in making or marketing contemporary Christian music. Includes courses on the music industry and intersection of faith and culture as well as field experience in Nashville or New York.
Latin American Studies Program
Program in San Jose, Costa Rica. Covers wide range of Latin American experiences through study of language, literature, culture, politics, history, economics, ecology and religion of the region. Students live with Costa Rican families.
Los Angeles Film Studies Center
Program trains students to serve in various areas of film industry. Combination of internship and seminars allows students to explore the film industry within a Christian context. Students live, learn and work in LA near major studios.
Middle East Studies Program
Based in Cairo, Egypt. Explores complex and strategic world of modern Middle East. Interdisciplinary seminars give students opportunities to explore the diverse religious, social, cultural, and political traditions of the Middle Eastern people. Equips students to relate to Muslim world in informed, constructive, and Christ-centered manner.
The Scholars' Semester in Oxford
Rigorous academic program run by Wycliffe Hall, a theological college at Oxford University. Students select two tutorials and an integrative seminar, and attend Oxford Faculty Lectures. Requires a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Russian Studies Program
Program exposes students to depth and diversity of Russian culture, history, and literature during semester spent in Russia's 3 largest cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Nizhni Novgorod.
Uganda Studies Program
Based at Uganda Christian University. Uses travel, experiential learning and service opportunities with academic work to study African faith and practice, African literature, history, traditional religions, and language.
Washington Journalism Center Program
The Washington Journalism Center is an advanced, experiential semester on Capitol Hill that will cultivate professional news skills and encourage students to think through the implications of being a Christian working in the news media in a city that is home to the powerful and the powerless.
