The gym was packed with 2,500 people on Friday, April 25 to hear Dinesh D'Souza debate Peter Singer on the existence of God, including several related issues: human origins and evolution, the problem of evil and suffering, the basis for morals and ethical principles, and the cultural impact of an atheistic or theistic worldview.

The free-wheeling debate moderated by Craig Hazen, director of the Christian Apologetics Program, featured opening statements, rebuttals, and cross examination and the evening concluded with a lively Q&A with the audience. Questions were addressed to both speakers with each having an opportunity to respond. Singer was applauded for participating in the debate on "enemy" ground and the audience treated both speakers with equal respect.
