All Biola Youth Academics courses are biblically centered. Secondary level courses are taught at a college preparatory level.
The course levels listed in parentheses (excluding Torrey Academy Classes) are guidelines. We realize that homeschoolers often cross grade-level "boundaries" for many subjects; therefore students are welcome to enroll in any class that suits their level of achievement. Please remember that our core courses are college preparation level.

This one-semester course covers the basics of economic principles, including economic laws and current economic issues. The concepts of competition and market structure, supply and demand, the role of prices and costs, inflation, and depression are covered. Students study the role of the government, the Federal Reserve, and the citizens to determine how their interaction creates prosperity or poverty. There is also a section dealing with personal finances and Biblical financial principles
This one-semester course is a comprehensive survey of American Government. Students gain a firm foundation of knowledge concerning the history of American governmental structure and function. The ideas regarding a citizen's responsibility to the government are included. Students study the constitution, party politics, and all three branches of the government.
