Study Tours are Biola courses that are taught while the enrolled students travel with the faculty to a remote location relevant to the course content. Torrey Off-Campus Programs offer opportunities to live and study away from the Biola campus for credit. Students read books, attend lectures, participate in discussion groups and visit cultural points of interest in the area they are visiting. Past Torrey Off-Campus Programs have included trips to Rome, Europe and Cambridge.
What Will I Study?
Torrey Cambridge is a three-week summer intensive tutorial where students live in residence at Cambridge University, UK while reading a wide spectrum of Cambridge authors, from Erasmus to Sylvia Plath. Students also complete an immersive reading requirement in one of the New Testament epistles. Students attend lectures given by Cambridge faculty, participate in discussion groups and visit cultural points of interest, both in Cambridge and across the UK. The in-residence nature of Torrey Cambridge provides the opportunity for spiritual bonding and intellectual growth in a more intensive and intimate environment than is possible during the school year. Students are supervised and led by a tutor in the Torrey Honors Institute.
