Biola Celebrates Korean Friends Day

On Oct. 4, President Corey celebrated Biola’s second Korean Friends Day, designed to cultivate Biola’s relationship with the Korean Christian community. Biola students were treated to a performance by the Far East Broadcasting Company (FEBC) Children’s Choir and a message from Billy Kim, chairman of FEBC-Korea.

Korean guests received a tour of the new Mosaic Cultural Center, and a luncheon featuring a piano duo by Sylvia Hong and her husband Michael Rector. At lunch, Kim encouraged support for Biola scholarships and Talbot professor Ben Shin interviewed two Korean students. President Corey interviewed Kim and FEBC-US president Ed Cannon in the new Bowman Missions Media Room. The day concluded with a concert hosted by the Conservatory of Music featuring pianists Sylvia Hong and Michael Rector.
