TESOL: Course Design

Cook School of Intercultural Studies

About this Course

Have you been asked to start a conversation class for English language learners? Are you in charge of the English camp your church is hosting this summer? Are you teaching in a school where you have the freedom to do whatever you want? For various reasons, teachers often have to design courses from scratch. This course will help you do that.

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Gain an overview of the course design process from needs assessment to articulating goals to materials selection and more
  • Be led through the details of choosing course content, selecting materials, and formulating objectives
  • Receive a variety of resources to help with this process
