Ways to #JoinBiola
Through her Biola education, Jenissa, a sophomore sociology major, is being prepared to boldly share her faith with the lost.
Over the summer, Jenissa stepped out in faith, inviting friends to her church and starting conversations about her belief in Jesus. “It’s one thing to tell a stranger about God, but to actively talk about God with friends, that’s harder.”
She credits both her classes and co-curricular activities outside for her newfound boldness to share her faith – impacting the world for Christ.
As a freshman, Jenissa was a leader on Biola’s Ethnic Advancement Team, a group dedicated to community outreach and ministry activities to recruit new students from diverse backgrounds. A first generation college student, Jenissa currently mentors two FirstGen students, walking with them in the joys and challenges.
Yet, Jenissa knows her world-class, Christ-centered education would not be possible without the support of generous donors.
“I’m so grateful to those who make it possible for me to continue the legacy I am making for my younger brother and cousins as a first-generation Latina student.”
Today is for Biola students like Jenissa – students prepared to be equipped to share the Light of Christ with the world.
“If I were to thank a donor who made a gift in support of my education, I’m sure I would break down into tears. You make my degree possible.”
Together, will you join us in making Biola more affordable for all students.
Michael, a junior business major and U.S. Navy veteran, knows from experience the value of surrounding himself with a community singular in mission. “Our end-goal is all the same here,” he says. “It’s all about Christ.”
When Michael chose to pursue his degree at Biola after serving in the Navy, it was about more than receiving a diploma. “I could’ve gone to any school for accounting,” he notes. But Michael didn’t just want an exceptional business program, but also the “untold value” of a Christ-centered education.
“When I visited, I went to class and the professor took prayer requests and prayed.” He thought to himself, “What is going on? Really? ...We’re all going to pray? ...right here? I was mind-blown.” Studying at Biola has given Michael a perspective that will challenge him in ways he hadn’t ever experienced. “Christ is incorporated into areas that I had never thought about before.”
Through his world-class, biblically centered education, Michael is being prepared to impact the world for Christ at his tax and audit internships – opportunities provided him by his time in the business program, studying under professors who have “changed my life.”
After graduation, Michael looks forward to bringing joy and passion to his work in accounting.
“None of this would be possible without the generous support of people who are giving-back and paying-it-forward for students like Michael, “Thank you. Thank you for making this possible! Thank you for changing my life and undoubtedly allowing me to change other people’s lives.”
The support of generous donors has made all the difference for Michael.
